Complete day trip to visit Alexandria,Pompey’s Pillar, Red granite 27 m high, the Catacombs of Kom al-Shuqafah (Hill of Tiles), which is the largest and most important burial site of the Roman times in Egypt, and we will see Qaitbay Citadel (from outside only), Lunch at sea food Restaurant, then visit Alexandria library (Bibliotheca).
Early morning at 7:00 am start the tour to visit Alexandria, the second largest city in Egypt, it was built by Alexander the Great of Macedonia in332 BC, First stop will be the Catacombs, which are the largest Roman Cemetery consisting of three levels cut in the bedrock. we will visit Pompeii Pillar, which was built in 297, located near the temple of Sarapis, then will see the Fort Qaitbay Citadel (from outside only), which was built in 1477, then Lunch at a popular tourist sea food restaurant. Then we will visit the Alexandria Library, the biggest library in the Old World, with 8 million books. Then return to Cairo.
